The Role
The John Locke Institute is seeking a highly motivated Director of Admissions to join our growing team. This pivotal role oversees the entire admissions process, ensuring a seamless and world-class experience for prospective students while advancing the Institute’s outreach, alumni relations, and strategic growth. The successful candidate will combine strong leadership with operational excellence, setting and maintaining the highest standards for the admissions team and the Institute as a whole.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor and motivate the admissions team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and accountability.
Provide clear guidance and weekly plans to ensure all tasks are performed to the highest professional standard.
Conduct regular performance reviews and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Admissions Operations
Manage all stages of the admissions cycle, including application processing, interview coordination, decision communication, and scholarship/bursary administration.
Ensure consistent, proactive and personalised communication with applicants, guiding them from initial enquiry through to enrolment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date student databases and reporting systems.

Data, Research & Process Optimisation
Oversee the implementation and optimisation of the Institute’s CRM system to enhance efficiency and the applicant experience.
Conduct market research to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
Perform continuous data analysis and process optimisation.

Admissions Strategy & Execution
Develop and deliver admissions strategies aligned with the Institute’s mission and enrolment goals.
Drive improvements in admissions processes through digitalisation, new tools and platforms.

Alumni, Prospective Student & School Engagement
Cultivate and strengthen relationships with alumni, partner schools and educators to expand the Institute’s global reach and reputation.
Represent the Institute with professionalism and enthusiasm in interactions with students, parents and schools.
Develop strategies to attract a diverse and highly talented applicant pool.

Collaboration with Marketing & Events
Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute campaigns that enhance the Institute’s profile and attract outstanding candidates.
Support the planning and delivery of events, ensuring the events team has the necessary information from admissions to plan effectively and deliver an exceptional experience for our students.
Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of three years’ proven experience in a role within university admissions, education, or student services.

Extensive leadership experience with a track record of managing high-performing teams.

Outstanding organisational and project management expertise, demonstrated through the successful delivery of complex initiatives.

Strong familiarity with marketing and admissions processes, including proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

Previous experience in brand marketing and campaign creation is an advantage.

Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in fields such as philosophy, politics, economics, history, or related disciplines is an advantage.
