Announcing Professor Robin Hanson

The John Locke Institute is proud announce that professor Robin Hanson will be joining us for our summer school in France 2018.
Professor Hanson is an associate professor of economics at George Mason University and a research associate at the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University.
Professors Hanson’s research focus has been on futures markets. He is credited with creating the concept of the Policy Analysis Market and has developed many market scoring rules, used for predicting market changes. He has written a number of books, including The Age of Em and The Elephant in the Brain.
Students can get a short exposure to professor Hanson’s ideas in his Ted Talk: What would happen if we upload our brains to computers? In his talk professor Hanson discusses what an economy built by and for machine emulated human brains would look like.
